COLDWATER SCHOOLS DISTRICT POLICY

Students are allowed to charge A SCHOOL MEAL ONLY up to three times (for an elementary student this would amount to $4.50, and a secondary student this would amount to $6.00).  We do not allow students to charge A LA Carte items.

After three charges, Elementary students will be served a sandwich and milk until they pay their charges. Deposit requests are printed on Thursday and sent home in Friday Folders. Any negative balance will be one day behind and we ask that you consider this when sending a check.

The cashier informs middle and high school students as soon as they incur a negative balance.  The cashier also warns the student that after the third unpaid charge they will not be served.

Parents have the option of not allowing their children to charge a meal.

All charges are stopped by the middle of May and parents will receive a deposit request at the end of the school year.  Please send a check or money order made out to Coldwater Food Services, to Legg Middle School, 175 Green St., Coldwater, MI  49036.

All charges not paid before the end of the school year will be carried forward into the next school year even if your child attends a different building.  This could result in your child being denied a lunch at the beginning of the new school year.

Seniors are expected to pay all lunch charges before receiving their cap and gown.
