The Meat and Protein Group shares the second tier from the top with the Dairy Group.  You should get at least 2-3 servings from the Meat Group daily.

Spotted Meatapotamus

The Protein Group is represented by the Spotted Meatapotamus.  He likes to eat foods that contain protein so he can have strong muscles, glowing skin and healthy hair.  Protein provides us with important vitamins and minerals such as vitamin B12, B6, zinc, iron and niacin.

What foods represent the Protein Goup?

Meat(beef, pork, veal), Fish, Poultry, Nuts, Eggs, Legumes, Tofu, Peanut Butter

Suggested servings are:

2-3 oz of cooked meat, fish or poultry; 1 egg; 1/2 cup cooked legumes; 2 Tablespoons peanut butter

Be sure to get at least 2-3 servings from the Protein Group daily.
